| 19-year-old Noah Strycker is fast becoming nationally
known as a bird artist and illustrator. Last year he won the prestigious
American Birding Association's "Young Birder of the Year" competition
with entries of artwork, photography, and field sketching. His drawings
and paintings depicting birds have recently graced the covers of several
national publications, as well as appeared in government documents and
magazines. Some of his art was selected for inclusion in an exhibit on
scientific illustration at the University of Oregon's Museum of Natural
History.
When not actually painting birds, Noah is out observing, photographing, and writing about birds. He actively contributes material to the premier national birding magazines, including Birder's World, Bird Watcher's Digest, WildBird, Living Bird, Birds and Blooms, and Birding. He is the columnist known as "BirdBoy" at WildBird magazine and is the Associate Editor of Birding magazine. Noah's lively artwork derives from hundreds of hours of field observation and study. He recently has traveled to Taiwan, Ecuador, Mexico, Alaska, Michigan, Washington, and Arizona, and spent four months living in central Panama doing bird-related work. He has recently finished illustrating an upcoming pair of textbooks on bird coloration and an annual report for Bluffton University in Ohio. |
